Here is my full EA support chat text for reference: hope this information helps anyone else out that may encounter this problem. The update process completed successfully and I was logged in. Upon restarting Origin it began the update process, I chose to not do automatic updates for future. Quit the app, also quit it form the tray run area. After waiting a minute or too, Origin put me into Offline mode as it detected my Origin app was out of date and asked me to quit and re-login to get another update. Origin installed just fine, and was able to login. I believe this was to stop the auto-updater, maybe that is a problem currently? He did mention this older version requires less install privileges. I was told to uncheck the automatic updates during the installation process. TLDR: Basically they had me install an older Origin app from here: After chatting with EA Support I was able to resolve the problem.
